To register as a tour operator in India, you need to submit an application and the required documents to the Ministry of Tourism:

Application: Complete the TTO form Documents: Provide the following documents: Copy of registration certificate Copy of balance sheet and profit and loss account Copy of banker's certificate Copy of last year's income tax return Character and antecedent certificate from the district police authorities Copy of PAN card Copy of service tax registration Proof of staff qualifications Proof of promotional activities Proof of tie-ups with airlines or carriers

You can apply for renewal or extension online at etraveltradeapproval.nic.in. The registration fee for a tour operator license starts at ₹24,999, excluding GST. The government charges may vary by state.

A (TO) Tour Operator is responsible for planning trips and holiday packages.

A (TA) Travel Agent is an intermediary who sells these services.
